Jyotirlinga

As Brahma and Vishnu argued
About who was the best
Shiva appeared
And put them to the test

Materializing himself
As an infinite pillar of light
Going up and down
With no end in sight

Vishnu raced to the bottom
And Brahma raced to the top
And both of them found
That the linga never stopped

When the gods reconvened
And met again at last
Vishnu conceded defeat
And Brahma lied when asked

If he had reached the end
Of this eternal pillar of fire
This angered Shiva
He knew that Brahma was a liar

He then cursed Brahma
The god of all creation
Making sure that no one
Would bow to him in prostration

Through this act he proved
To the other gods that he
Was limitless and eternal
The greatest of the three

Represented by the linga
With no beginning and no end
We bow our heads to Shiva
So that we can transcend

Beyond the limited confines
Of who we think we are
So that we can embody the light
The wisdom of the stars

By transforming ourselves
We create the solution
This is the key
To our spiritual evolution

Guiding us through
The eternal mystery
So we can find the truth
That lies in ancient history

Embodying the wisdom
That the ancients knew
So that love can come forth
In all that we do
